STAR WARS: The Force Awakens – SDCC 2015 Reel

“Real sets.  Practical effects.  You’ve been here, but you don’t know this story.  Nothing’s changed really — I mean everything’s changed, but nothing’s changed.  That’s the way you want it to be really.”

Mark Hamill’s words in the STAR WARS: The Force Awakens Comic-Con reel shown in San Diego this past weekend to ecstatic fans at Hall H illuminate the fascination with a myth that first captured our own excitement back in 1977 with the original Star Wars film.  If Hamill, returning for the first time since 1983 to play Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, is correct in his assumption, then maybe that enigmatic lightning in a bottle has once again been captured through the art of filmmaking.  If we are to judge solely from the SDCC reel, which you can see below, it seems more possible than ever.  Enjoy!

STAR WARS Episode VII: The Force Awakens opens in theaters December 18, 2015.
